I had to go to the DMV this week.
To renew my license.
And not just a normal renewal… I needed a Real ID too.
I had been putting it off for months.
Every time it came up, I had the same thought:
“This is going to take forever.”
Three hours. Lines out the door. Missing paperwork.
So I kept pushing it.
When I finally went…
It took 30 minutes.
There was someone right at the door.
They checked my paperwork. Told me exactly what line to get in. Gave me a ticket.
No confusion. No guessing. No wasted motion.
I walked in expecting chaos.
It was actually… structured.
And that’s when it hit me.
It wasn’t the DMV that was the problem.
It was the friction I had built up in my head.
We’ve been seeing the same thing in business.
Not with the DMV.
With execution.
You know what needs to get done.
It’s sitting there.
On a list. In your head. In a doc somewhere.
But it keeps getting pushed.
Not because it’s impossible.
Because there’s friction around starting it.
Too many decisions. Too many moving parts. No clear first step.
So you do something else instead.
A few months ago, we noticed we were doing the same thing.
Important work sitting there.
And somehow we’d end the day having done everything except that.
Inbox. Slack. “Quick” tasks.
All movement. No progress.
So we built something for ourselves.
We called it GSD.
Get. Shit. Done.
At its core, it does one thing:
It removes the friction between you and the work that actually matters.
You pick one mission.
Not five.
Not “everything this week.”
One.
The system breaks it into micro-actions.
Tells you exactly what to do next.
And gives you a place to actually execute it.
There’s a built-in focus timer. A daily “war room” to commit before you start. An AI layer that calls out when you’re avoiding the hard thing.
Not motivational.
Operational.
The pattern we kept seeing was simple:
When the path is unclear, you delay.
When the path is obvious, you move.
The DMV worked because they removed the thinking.
GSD does the same thing for your business.
If you’ve got things sitting on your list right now that actually matter…
And they keep getting pushed…
That’s the gap.
Not knowledge.
Execution.

Or don’t.
But pick the one thing that actually moves you forward…
And finish it.
